Behind every persecuted Christian...is a person who shared the gospel with them.

In regions where following Christ means risking everything, millions of Christians face daily persecution. They lose everything—their livelihoods, their families, their homes...and some lose their lives.

When a community forsakes a believer...when they have lost everything for the sake of the gospel...

Where is a persecuted Christian to turn? How can a new believer be baptized?

At Help The Persecuted, we believe the answer is the Church.

Behind every persecuted community stands a faithful shepherd—pastors who sacrifice their own well-being to care for their flocks. These courageous leaders are the backbone of the church in the Islamic world, yet they often are the last to help themselves when they have a need. They repeatedly give of themselves to the flocks they so faithfully shepherd.

This is particularly true in the Islamic World, where persecuted Christians often live in desperate need. Our team has met many pastors in that region who feel guilt and shame when it comes to providing for themselves when they see so many who need help, and so they don’t—to the detriment of their own health and family.

Our vision is to see the persecuted church not only endure, but flourish and multiply...

...and this can happen when faithful pastors, faithful shepherds, are able to minister to persecuted Christians.

Enduring Shepherds Ministry

At Help The Persecuted, we have longed to come alongside these pastors who are giving up everything for the sake of the gospel and the persecuted Christians they shepherd so self-sacrificially. Because of this, we have created our Enduring Shepherds Ministry!

In 2024, we started our Enduring Shepherds Ministry. Through this ministry:

  • Pastors throughout the Islamic World are provided a year-long grant that takes care of their salary so that they can flourish in ministry without taking on extra work
  • Our Field Ministers support them spiritually, checking on them and encouraging them in the Lord

Since this ministry began, brave pastors in places like Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, and even Iran have been recipients of the ministry. The results? Transformative.

When Pastor Ajay, who lives in Pakistan, learned that he would be a recipient of the Enduring Shepherds Ministry, he was awestruck by the generosity of people like you.

"This unexpected blessing resolves impossible challenges! It couldn't have happened without faith and God's favor. I am deeply grateful for this blessing that came at just the right time!"—Ajay, Pakistan

For Timothy, an Afghan refugee who fled to a neighboring country, it meant that he could reach out to many, many more Afghans still in the country. He has connected our team with many other persecuted Christians whose lives were in danger. Because of your generosity that made it possible for us to minister to Timothy...many other persecuted Christians' lives have been saved!

At Dawood's church in Pakistan, the members longed to support him. But their needs were so great that they could give him only occasionally offerings for his income. he struggled to cover his gas, electricity, and medical bills. He longed for a motorbike to help him travel to minister to more people. Through our Enduring Shepherds Ministry, he was able to no longer worry about providing for his family, and he finally was able to purchase the motorbike! Now, he is able to continue (and expand!) his ministry.

These are three of many, many persecuted pastors in the Islamic World who have chosen to minister to the least of these.

Through your giving, you have made this possible.

There are many more people like Ajay, Timothy, and Dawood—ministers of the gospel who struggle to make ends meet as they serve in some of the most hostile regions in the world.

You can help the persecuted church not only endure but flourish and multiply.
